Michigan State Police Celebrate 100 Years Of Service

Wednesday marks 100 years of service for Michigan State Police.

Governor Rick Snyder has declared Wednesday as Michigan State Police Day and he encourages all Michiganders to recognize this historic century milestone.

State Police date back to World War I.

They were created by Governor Albert Sleeper in 1917.

In celebration of the department’s centennial, State Police are hosting a ‘Day at the Capitol’ in Lansing with interactive displays for the public Wednesday.
