We have an update on the Flint water crisis.

The city’s mayor does not want to switch water sources.

Flint Mayor Karen Weaver is recommending that the city continues to pull drinking water from a Detroit-area system.

Last year, Weaver said the city was planning to switch to water from a Lake Huron pipeline.

She has now reversed that recommendation as a condition of getting $100 million in federal funding.

Weaver says switching the water source again is too risky and staying with Detroit’s water is less expensive.

Flint returned to the Detroit source in 2015 when they discovered Flint River water was causing lead to leach into the system for 18 months.
