TCAPS Bus Driver Dresses Up As Easter Bunny For Students

“Now I’m the Easter bunny,” said Scott Baty.

Some middle school students were greeted by an Easter bunny Thursday afternoon as they got on the bus.

Scott Baty is a bus driver at Traverse City West Middle School, and says he does whatever it takes to make the kids smile.

Getting in the holiday spirit, he dressed up as the Easter bunny on Thursday, passing out candy and homemade bunny cookies that his wife made.

And it’s not the first time he’s done this.

Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Saint Patrick’s Day are a few other holidays he’s dressed up for.

He says he loves seeing those smiling faces, and his wife loves having a part in it as well.

“I do whatever I can just to make them smile, give them a good day, so many kids are so darn serious nowadays, and if I can act like a fool and make them smile, that brings me a lot of joy,” said Baty.

Many kids say they were excited to start their long weekend with this special treat.
