Springfield Twp. Votes To Withdraw From Grand Traverse Rural Fire Department

One more fire department will be leaving Grand Traverse Rural Fire Department.

Tuesday night, Springfield Township board members unanimously voted to approve a resolution of intent to withdraw from Rural Fire.

The board will now begin the process of leaving.

Springfield joins a growing list of townships leaving Rural Fire, including Blair, Grant, Long Lake, Fife Lake and Green Lake.

Rural Fire is now made up of with Mayfield, Paradise, Union and Whitewater.
