Illegal Immigrants, US Citizens Stopped By Border Patrol Agents, MSP Near St. Ignace

Two illegal immigrants and two U.S. citizens were stopped by border patrol agents and Michigan State Police.

One person is still on the run Tuesday night.

It happened Saturday at a rest stop on I-75 near St. Ignace.

The border patrol agents stopped two people in a U-Haul truck who admitted to being here illegally from Nicaragua.

The illegal immigrants were arrested and told the agents they were traveling with another vehicle.

Agents found the vehicle in St. Ignace, but fled westbound on US-2.

The driver eventually pulled over and a passenger fled into the woods.

They were able to arrest the driver who is a U.S. citizen but are still searching for the passenger who fled.
