NASA is asking you to adopt the Earth.
It’s sectioned off 64,000 individual pieces of the planet to be "adopted" by supporters.
The pieces are about 55 miles wide and assigned randomly.
It’s kind of like adopting a highway or naming a star.
You do not get legal or property rights to these sections.
NASA hopes to have every piece adopted by Earth Day, April 22.
