At Wednesday’s Wexford County Commissioners meeting, the county made a decision on whether or not to hire more corrections officers for the new county jail.
Last month, the sheriff’s department asked for approval to hire five new corrections officers and make a part time clerk full time.
Wednesday, commissioners gave the go-ahead to hire three new corrections officers.
The sheriff’s department said they’ll continue to look at options moving forward.
