Hook & Hunting: Preparing for Fishing Season
New fishing licenses went out last week, and with the warm up we are supposed to see this weekend, people are ready to get back out on the water.
Streamside Orvis in Traverse City says as you prepare to hit the rivers and lakes, make sure all your equipment is in tip-top shape.
You’ll especially want to check your fishing line and take time to clean it.
It’s also good to look at your tackles and rods.
With trout season a few weeks away, things are getting busy.
“Actual trout season starts that last weekend in April and people kind of gear up for that,” says Greg Miller, general manager at Streamside Orvis. “It’s a big thing. They camp out and everybody gets their buddies together and heads out to the river for that opening weekend.”
Streamside Orvis says the water temperatures and levels are looking food for the start of trout season.
