Police Arrest Charlevoix Man Found Sleeping On Stranger’s Couch

A Charlevoix man is out of jail Tuesday morning after breaking into someone’s home and falling asleep.

Police say it happened Saturday morning just before 4 a.m. in Boyne City, when a homeowner called police after hearing noises in his living room.

That’s where he found a man he did not know sleeping on his couch.

The homeowner called police, who tried to wake the sleeping man, but he became aggressive.

They tased and arrested him, but he bonded out.

He has not yet been arraigned.

Police believe alcohol was a factor.
