Traverse City’s TART Trails, Paddle for Pints Honored for Innovative Tourism

Northern Michigan is once again being recognized in the tourism industry.

The Governor’s Awards for Innovative Tourism Collaboration honored Paddle for pints in Traverse City in the Experience Development and Presentation Category.

Paddle for Pints is a brewery pub paddle on Traverse City’s Boardman Lake and River and the West Bay.

Up North Trails won in the category of Non-traditional Partnerships — that includes TART Trails in Traverse City.

Both groups say these awards show just how much Northern Michigan has to offer.

“What started out as a small let’s try it out and see what happens, has really grown into something that’s looked forward to throughout the year and tickets are sought after,” said Todd Klepper, General Manager of The Filling Station.

“What we’re trying to do is just let people know there’s a lot of non-motorized pathways and motorized pathways that they might not know about that are real close to them,” said Brian Beauchamp with TART Trails.

Both groups hope this award continues to attract visitors to the area.
