Traverse City Light and Power is warning their customers about a potential scam.
The power company says someone has called a few of their customers demanding a payment and threatening to shut off their service if they didn’t.
The scammers give a case number along with an 800 number to call.
TCLP says they will never try to collect a balance in this way.
If you do get a call from the scammer claiming to be TCLP and feel pressured for a payment, you are asked to call police.
