Thousands Without Power Across Northern Michigan

Strong winds and ice have thousands of people across Northern Michigan without power Tuesday morning.

These photos were taken by a member of our news-team Monday night after a tree fell in his driveway.

Strong winds and ice-coated power lines are leaving thousands in the dark Tuesday morning.

Right now, more than 10,000 Consumers Energy customers and more than 2,500 Great Lakes Energy members are without power in Northern Michigan.

Consumers says they plan to have power restored to all of their customers by 11pm Tuesday.

Stay with Northern Michigan’s News Leader as we continue to track these outages throughout the day.
