A new year will bring plenty of changes, especially when you have to renew your vehicle registration.
Governor Rick Snyder signed a bunch of bills in November of 2015 that are part of a road funding package.
It’s worth $1.2 billion, and Michigan drivers will help pay for it.
The plan will increase vehicle registration costs for passenger vehicles and commercial trucks by 20 percent.
If you have a hybrid or an all-electric car, it will cost even more.
The state gas tax will also go up by 7.3 cents.
You can still renew under the 2016 prices, as long as your birthday is in the next six months.
