Michigan Electors Cast Votes For Donald Trump

It’s official.

Michigan electors have cast their 16 votes for President-elect Donald Trump.

This marks the first time a Republican presidential nominee has won Michigan since 1988.

Trump narrowly beat Hillary Clinton in Michigan back on November 8.

In Michigan, Electoral College members are required to vote according to that result. If electors from Michigan don’t follow the statewide result, they are considered to have resigned and are immediately replaced.
