Traverse City Elementary School Students Spread Christmas Cheer

Some seniors enjoyed an afternoon full of Christmas carols and holiday cheer, brought to them by Traverse City Area Public School students.

Fourth and Fifth graders from Eastern Elementary spent part of their day performing at the Grand Traverse County Senior Center.

They spent this week practicing for their performance, which included a sing along of “We Wish You a Merry Christmas” and “The 12 Days of Christmas.”

Other favorites included the students dressing up for “Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer.”

The music teacher says the students were excited to visit the Senior Center and help brighten everyone’s day.

“This close to Christmas I think other people should spread the Christmas cheer and make other people happy,” says fourth grader Sasha Buck.

“Just outstanding. Reminded me a lot of my younger days when I was in education and coached for many years,” says Ron Bohn. “Seeing these young kids out here was fabulous. Marvelous job.”

Eastern Elementary will be holding a holiday singalong at the school on December 22.

It takes place from 3:15-3:45 and is open to the public.
