Manistee Mother Accused Of Trying To Murder 8-Month-Old Daughter

A mother is accused of trying to murder her 8-month-old daughter.

Manistee police say they found Angela Montney covered in blood outside of her apartment on Lincoln Street on December 3.

Investigators say Montney had stabbed herself several times with a sharp object.

Police followed her blood trail, looking for a suspect.

That’s when they found her daughter in their apartment, also stabbed.

The child is OK and is now with foster parents.

Montney now faces charges of first-degree child abuse and assault with intent to murder.

She also is charged with breaking and entering from a separate case on Thanksgiving.
