Otsego County Man Charged With Drunk Driving, Leaving Scene Of Accident

An Otsego County man is now charged with several crimes, including being drunk when he hit a car with a mother and her 10-year-old inside.

It happened last month on Old 27 near Gaylord, just south of Charles Brink Road.

Police say Steven Haight hit Sarah Byrley-Moore Sunday.

She was on her way to dinner with her son, Micah.

The SUV flipped several times, but both had only minor injuries.

An Otsego County deputy caught Haight about a mile down the road.

He’s now charged with drunk driving third offense, resisting and obstructing arrest, leaving the scene of an accident and having an open alcohol container.
