Northern Michigan Tow Truck Drivers Battle Frigid Temperatures

Tow truck drivers battle the frigid winter temperatures around the clock.

Peterson’s in Cadillac has workers on call throughout the day and night to help drivers who have car trouble.

Tow truck drivers work as quickly as they can and will often leave the heat in their trucks on so they can warm up.

They make sure to wear layers when responding to a call.

Tow truck drivers also fight slippery roads and have to watch out for other cars while they work.

“People sliding not getting out of the way,” explains tow truck driver, Tyler Reid. “I try to work on the opposite side of the road we have handles on both sides of our trucks so we can operate on the opposite side of traffic for safety for us.”
