A local soup kitchen, helping out the community one meal at a time.
Tuesday, the Stone Soup Project was serving their usual Tuesday meal at the Clare County Senior Community Center in Farwell.
It’s a project that started about a year ago, where volunteers serve food on Tuesdays and Thursdays for anyone who needs it.
The project is a nonprofit that operates its kitchen off of donations.
Tuesday, people gathered to have a chicken meal.
With Christmas on the way, volunteers are happy to bring everyone together to share a meal.
“To be able to do something other than to sit at home and look at a television or play board games, it’s something we look forward to doing,” says Felix Lyons, Stone Soup Project representative.
The Clare County Senior Community Center Board President, agreed.
“I love it, I love helping people, I like to see the smiles on people’s faces,” says Carolyn Welch.
The kitchen will be serving their Christmas meal on December 22 for anyone looking for a meal.
