Anti-Doping Agency to Release New Report on Russian Cheating

The World Anti-Doping Agency is expected to release the latest report on allegations of state-sponsored cheating and cover-ups in Russia on Friday.

The report will focus on evidence of a doping conspiracy in the 2014 Sochi Winter Games.

The first report issued in July led the World Anti-Doping Agency to call for a ban on Russian athletes in the Rio de Janeiro Olympics.

However, the International Olympic Committee rejected the call, instead allowing international sports federations to have the final say on which Russian athletes were allowed to compete.

The new report will be submitted to the IOC, which says it will impose strict sanctions on any athletes and officials implicated in doping.
