Hook and Hunting: Muzzleloading Season Starts

Firearm deer hunting season is now in the books for hunters.

For those who maybe didn’t get their prized buck, there is still other chances to do so.

Muzzleloading season is one of the few opportunities for hunters.

That season started on Saturday and goes till Sunday for many.

Bow Hole in Indian River says they’re staying busy with those hunters now that firearm season is over.

“The weather was bad for deer hunting this year. The DNR officers that stopped in here said that primarily what the problem was that, in a nutshell, the deer started to gain their heavy coat for the winter and when the weather warmed up, they weren’t moving,” says Larry Drozezewski, Bow Hole manager.

The store says sales started out slow because of the weather, but are now starting to pick up.
