People across Northern Michigan flocked to local stores to get ready for the snow storm.
Meijer in Mount Pleasant says people have been coming and going all day to buy shovels, salt and last minute supplies.
Many shoppers say they’re also stocking up on groceries in case they get snowed in.
Chuck Vancuren was one of those shoppers, he says when it comes to winter weather, it’s better to be safe than sorry.
"You get snowed in you’re not ready no gas in the snow blower no ice melt not a good shovel in hand. It’s not a good thing then you’re saying I should have went I should have went. Better to be safe than sorry," said Chuck Vancuren.
