At Least 97 Dead Following Indonesia Earthquake

Nearly 100 people are dead after a 6.4 magnitude earthquake shook part of Indonesia.

Indonesian officials say the deadly quake hit early Wednesday morning in the northern province of Aceh, killing at least 97 people and injuring hundreds.

Dozens of buildings collapsed and there are likely more people trapped under rubble.

Officials are now asking for emergency supplies and excavation equipment to help move the heavy debris.

The same region suffered massive destruction more than a decade ago when a 9.2 magnitude quake triggered a tsunami that wiped out more than 120,000 people.
