An important part of a Mount Pleasant church, back where it belongs two weeks after being stolen.
Their peace pole was returned Sunday.
The pole was taken from the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship Of Central Michigan.
Sunday, it was found outside the main doors.
The pole is made of wood and is covered with plates bearing the words "may peace prevail on earth" in eight different languages.
Five of those language plates were missing when it was returned.
The pole is special to many at the church because children from the church raised money to get the peace pole two years ago.
Now the church just hopes the rest of the language plates are returned.
“We can only hope if the pole was returned, maybe the plates will. We’re not sure why those particular languages were removed. I’m glad that it came back, I just wish it wasn’t damaged as badly as it is,” says Dawn Daniels, Minister.
The church plans to repair the pole and install it with cement.
