Traverse City Woman Raises Money for Community with Socks Of Love

A Traverse City woman is giving back to her community one snowman at a time.

Three years ago Crystal Gober created sock snowmen.

She called them Socks of Love and gives them away for a donation price of your choosing.

The money raised goes to help programs at Child and Family Services, Traverse City Area Public Schools and Cherryland Humane Society.

Crystal has already raised more than $860 in less than two weeks.

She will be making the snowmen until mid-December.

“It’s just something I’ve always been passionate about,” says Crystal Gober, founder of Socks of Love. “The holiday’s is a good time to do something like that. There’s generally a lot of people in need, more than more people realize. This is just a fun way to do it. People can give them as gifts and it’s helping somebody at the same time so it’s a win-win.”
