Black Friday Craze Stands True for Downtown Traverse City Shops

It’s a day so many look forward to each holiday season: Black Friday.

And in downtown Traverse City stores were bustling with shoppers all day long.

But many shops say it’s what they expect each year.

And for Pink Anchor Boutique, today was a day to look forward to.

The boutique just moved to their location on Front Street, re-opening on Black Friday.

They say seeing shoppers in and out of downtown stores instead of being at the mall was a nice surprise.

“We’ve definitely seen a steady flow of people coming by and coming in to check out the stores and I know I had checked to see what the others stores are doing and everybody is offering discounts which is great,” says Jennifer Burns, owner of Pink Anchor Boutique.

Many shops in downtown Traverse City say they expect to see even more people out shopping on Saturday, for Small Business Saturday.
