Virginia Man Arrested in Grand Traverse County, Accused Of Assaulting Officer

What started as a call for help Friday night led to a chase and the arrest of a Virginia man.

Traverse City police got a call to the Grand Traverse Motel for a fight involving a boyfriend and girlfriend.

Police say the man stabbed a door with a knife and damaged a glass door.

He took off before officers arrived.

They found him about a block away from the motel, but he continued to run and tried to pull a knife from his pocket.

An officer fired off a taser and arrested him.

Now he’s facing several charges, including assaulting a police officer, destroying property and resisting arrest.

The woman was taken to Munson for her injuries.
