Catholic priests can continue to forgive abortions.
Pope Francis has extended the powers in an apostolic letter.
It continues a special dispensation granted last year during the Year of Mercy, which ended on Sunday.
Before now, only a bishop or someone designated by a bishop had the power, the authority to dissolve the sin of abortion.
The Catholic Church still teaches and underlines that this is a particularly quote — "grave sin".
Francis wrote in a statement saying, "There is no sin that God’s mercy cannot reach and wipe away".
