Hunters Happy With Weekend Snow For Firearm Deer Season

Sunday’s snow, a welcome sight for hunters out in the woods on the first weekend of firearm deer season.

Hunters say that when there is snow on the ground, it’s easier to track deer.

They use blood trails and it’s also easier to find hoove prints.

Hunters say as the temperatures drop, they’ve seen more deer out in the woods.

“They are not very active if they are in their winter coats and it’s hot, there not moving during the day, so yes I’d say they are more active in the snow,” says John Makinen, hunter.

Hunters tell us they’re hoping to see some more snow and cooler temperatures continue.
