Leelanau Cheese Wins Highest Ranking in International Competition

Northern Michigan is known for many things, but now we’re in the international limelight for amazing cheese.

Leelanau Cheese in Suttons Bay won a super gold award for their Mild Raclette cheese at the World Cheese Awards.

Only 66 cheeses out of more than 3,000 from all over the world got the Super Gold recognition.

Anne Hoyt owns the company with her husband John and says to be recognized on the same list as legendary French and Swiss cheese makers is a special moment. “We have been doing that competition I think for about 10 years and we have won gold and silver and bronze but this is the first time super gold and this is just amazing, it’s up here.”

She says she hopes this big moment goes a long way for their loyal and future customers.
