Grand Traverse County Man Arrested After Leading Deputies On Short Chase

Deputies arrested a Grand Traverse County man after he led them on a chase.

He told them he did not want his car to get towed.

Deputies clocked him going 60 in a 40 mile per hour zone on M-137 in Interlochen Wednesday afternoon.

When they tried to pull him over, the driver sped up to around 80 miles per hour.

The chase only lasted a mile until the driver pulled into his mom’s driveway on Artist Avenue.

He told the deputy he was speeding to the home to avoid getting his car towed.

They arrested him for fleeing and eluding, driving with a suspended license second offense, driving without insurance and two other local warrants.
