Grant Me Hope: Kody

Many times in our lives we take some simple things for granted, like going to a concert, an amusement park or licking the extra batter when you’re baking a birthday cake.

This week in Grant Me Hope, Kody talks about his dream of finding an adoptive, forever family.

Kody is 14 years old and enjoys playing basketball, dancing and listening to music.

“I have love that I can share with them. I have generosity. I can be funny with them, I could have a dance party and, like, show them my moves,” says Kody. “If I was adopted it would make me feel excited, happy and sad because I’ve been in placements for a long time, and I’ve never been with a real family.”

Fewer than 2 percent of aged out foster children ever go on to get any further education.

They need a loving parent to guide them and help them become successful adults.

Grant Me Hope is a collaboration between WWTV, Michigan Adoption Resource Exchange and the business community — all working together to find foster children a forever home.
