We have continuing coverage now on the ongoing Flint Water Crisis.
The city’s mayor has extended Flint’s state of emergency.
On Monday, Flint Mayor Karen Weaver signed a declaration renewing the order she first issued 11 months ago.
The Flint city council is expected to okay the renewal.
Both federal and state emergency declarations expired in August.
Weaver says the water quality is improving but health officials still can’t say it’s safe without a filter.
The water wasn’t properly treated when the city switched its water source to the Flint River causing lead to leach from the pipes.
