Manistee Food Pantry Receives 200 Donated Turkeys To Help Families This Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving is two weeks away and those in need of a turkey in Manistee can stop by and pick up their poultry.

Friday, donations came pouring into St. Joseph’s Church to help Matthew 25:35 Food Pantry in Manistee.

About 200 turkeys were donated to help feed hungry families this Thanksgiving.

Along with the turkeys, canned food items, bread and other baking materials were donated.

Donations even came from out of state.

"We love to get food donated too, because we get a variety of things that we can’t buy, you know, which is kind of fun for shoppers. That’s something normally we wouldn’t have otherwise," says Joan Gamache.

To pick up your Thanksgiving turkey, you must show you are a Manistee resident and have a low-income.
