FSU Students Sleep Outside to Raise Awareness for Homelessness in America

Some Ferris State University students are sleeping in boxes outside tonight for a good cause.

Students from the Ferris State Chapter of Habitat for Humanity built a box city in Big Rapids.

The cardboard village of sorts has statistics written on the sides of the boxes about homelessness in America.

By sleeping boxes, they’re walking a mile in someone’s shoes.

Rachel Mitchell, Ferris State University student says, "It’s definitely not something you would want to do for your lifetime, and that’s what the homeless people are doing every day and we just want to help them out."

They are accepting donations, benefiting Habitat for Humanity. Click to donate.
