We’re looking at transitions in power in Michigan.

Thursday afternoon, Representative Tom Leonard was elected by Republicans to be the next speaker of the Michigan House of Representatives.

Leonard is a second-term lawmaker and chairs the House Insurance Committee.

He’s also served as an assistant state attorney general and a prosecutor in Genesee County.
