Traverse City Man Arrested For Driving Drunk, Damaging Police Property
A Traverse City man is in jail after he was arrested for drunk driving and damaging police property.
Grand Traverse County deputies say they were called to Holiday Road and Ridge Run Road in Acme Township after a vehicle ran into a telephone pole.
When they arrived, they spoke to the driver and found he was under the influence of alcohol.
After they tried arresting him, the 28-year-old began yelling and shouting obscenities at the deputies.
Deputies then searched his vehicle and found marijuana.
During the drive to Munson Medical Center for a chemical test, the man started kicking the patrol car door, causing damage.
He was later taken to the Grand Traverse County Jail for multiple charges including operating while impaired, destruction of police equipment and possession of marijuana.
