Northern Michigan’s News Leader has uncovered more details on a shooting involving two Grand Traverse County neighbors.
The shooting happened Friday morning on Spaling Road in Paradise Township.
Court documents say Benjamin Schlack broke out a window in his neighbor’s camper and fired his gun inside.
Then, he broke down the door open and walked inside the camper.
The neighbor used a pocket knife to hit Schlack in the hand, causing the gun in his hand to go off, hitting the victim in the leg.
Schlack is looking at a first-degree home invasion charge, assault with intent to do great bodily harm less than murder, assault with a dangerous weapon and felony firearm.
