With the holidays approaching, local Salvation Armies are lending a helping hand.
The Salvation Army in Traverse City started its holiday assistance sign-up.
They offer a food basket for either Thanksgiving or Christmas, as well as help through their Christmas Toy Shop.
Sign-up is available on Thursday and Saturday from 9am-4pm.
“I don’t know any family that wants to wake up and not have a holiday meal or gifts underneath their tree,” says Salvation Army Corp Officer, Jeff Russell. “Looking at the past history, the need is still pretty stable. I mean, we helped, I believe, up to almost 600 children last year.”
Volunteers are also needed for the upcoming holiday season.
