Traverse City Non-Profit, Norte! Announces New Headquarters

A local nonprofit that helps kids choose alternative methods of transportation now has a space to call home.

Norte! in Traverse City encourages kids to ride bikes, and teaches them to care for them.

Now, they’ve been approved to rent space at the clubhouse in the Civic Center for $250 per month.

They’re planning to host youth workshops, lessons on bicycle care and provide a community hangout space.

It will also hold the bike library, which was previously in the executive director’s garage.

“I think we’re really going to empower people to learn how to take care of their bikes,” says Ty Schmidt, Executive Director of Norte!. “We’re going to have space for them to come and use our tools and use our equipment.”

Norte! hopes to be ready to open up the new space sometime next month.
