A class at Northwestern Michigan College is doing a special project to help people eat.
The Business 231 class is hosting the Food for Thought Drive now through November 19.
You can drop off food in red bins around campus.
There will also be three events where you can donate.
At the events, there will be lists of the Top 10 most-needed items.
The class’ goal is to fill the shelves of at least 13 Northwest Food Coalition food pantries.
“There’s no one out there who deserves to have to question where their next meal is going to come from. Food insecurity is just something I think we can get rid of,” said Team Leader Robinson Grant-Wagner. “And this is a start.”
The first event will be at Tom’s Food Market on the West Bay and East Bay October 29. November 5 and 6, there will be events at the Traverse City Walmart. Then finally, there will be a robotics event at NMC’s Aero Park Laboratory.
