DNR Reminds Everyone To Check Fire Danger Before Burning

The DNR is reminding everyone to check fire danger before you burn.

The DNR says grasses and ferns are dying this time of the year and could easily fuel a fire.

They also say even though temperatures have dropped and the grass may be green, it doesn’t mean wildfire danger has gone away.

“The cooler temperature at night tend to make people think the fire danger is gone. Things are still dry. You could start an unexpected wildfire,” says Sue Sobieski, Department of Natural Resource.
