Clare County Woman Sentenced For Lying To Police About Her Father’s Death

A woman who admitted to lying to police about her father’s death has been sentenced to jail.

Back in April, Leonard Hempel’s body was found buried in Clare County after he had been missing for several weeks.

Leonard was found in his own backyard in Surrey Township.

His daughter, Angela Hempel is now going to jail for one year.

She pleaded guilty to lying to police and concealing a death, as well as being an accessory to a felony.

She was originally charged with open murder.

Her boyfriend, James Kuhns, is accused of killing Leonard.
