Cherry Capital Airport Thanks Senator Wayne Schmidt for Role in Aviation Funding Bill
Cherry Capital Airport is thanking a key player in helping Michigan airports thrive.
In December the Michigan Senate passed the aviation funding bill.
The bill ensures that the aviation fuel tax is used only for aviation purposes.
Senator Wayne Schmidt introduced the bills, and on Tuesday Cherry Capital Airport thanked him for his hard work.
These laws make sure millions of dollars go to airport projects.
“Our airports, whether you’re talking about Pellston, Chippewa International, Traverse City’s Cherry Capital Airport, those are main pieces of infrastructure that make sure that business and tourism are handled properly,” Senator Wayne Schmidt says.
Senator Schmidt also credits Senator Goeff Hansen of Northern Michigan for his help in passing the bills.
