Cadillac-Wexford Transit Authority to Extend Service Hours

The Cadillac-Wexford Transit Authority is extending its service hours.

They just received a $160,000 grant from MDOT called the "Job Access Reverse Commute" grant.

They’re going to use the money to extend weekday hours into the evenings after 6 p.m., and operate from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturdays.

They’re making the changes to meet a community request.

“Last fall we had focus groups with both our passengers, the community in general and businesses. And the number one thing they said to us over and over to every single group was they wanted extended hours into the evening,” CWTA Executive Director Carrie Thompson said.

A meeting will be held on August 31 for businesses and stakeholders to help decide the exact evening extension times.
