Dennos Museum Hosts Groundbreaking Ceremony for $5 Million Expansion
With the turn of artist designed shovels, the expansion of the Dennos Museum has begun.
Artists, donors, community members, and staff at Northwestern Michigan College came together Monday morning for the groundbreaking of the museum’s expansion.
The $5 million expansion will be the site of future galleries on the east side of the museum.
Mike and Barb Dennos’ daughter, Chris, says the museum has become an artistic landmark to many in the community.
“I would venture to say the vast majority of the people who are here today either have donated, volunteered or come to visit the museum all the time. So it’s a huge, huge collection of people who are excited to see the museum expanded,” says Chris Dennos.
This year also marks the 25th anniversary of the Dennos Museum.
