Grow Benzie Hosting Second Annual ‘Bayou on the Bay’ Music Festival Fundraiser

A local organization is kicking off a music festival fundraiser this weekend.

Grow Benzie is hosting the second annual Bayou on the Bay: Blues and Zydeco Picnic in the Park on Saturday in Frankfort.

All proceeds will be going to support their community center, gardens and community kitchen.

The event will have lots of Louisiana cuisine made with local ingredients.

Musicians are coming from Northern Michigan, Detroit, and even New Orleans.

“The Gabriel Brass Band is starting at Stormcloud Brewing Company at two p.m. They are going to play a short teaser show and then march second-line-style down the sidewalks through Frankfort, and then end up here at the festival site at three p.m. So the music starts at three,” explained Josh Stoltz, Executive Director of Grow Benzie. “Bring your chair and blankets and bring an empty tummy because we’re going to have plenty of food for everybody.”

Tickets are $25, which includes entry into the festival as well as a membership to Grow Benzie.
