Former Detroit City Council President Pleads Not Guilty To Sex Crimes Charges

Back in court in Detroit on Friday, former Detroit City Council President Charles Pugh pleaded not guilty to sex crimes charges.

Pugh is accused of sex crimes involving a teenage victim, who came forward with the allegations as an adult.

The man is now in his 20’s and described a graphic relationship with Pugh, which began when he was just 14 years old.

The man says he met Pugh when his theater group performed at WJBK.

The victim says the sex crimes started when he became an intern.

Pugh was arrested in June in New York, and brought back to Michigan.

He remains locked up in jail in Wayne County.

The judge set a jury selection date for November 7th.
