The Traverse City Area Public Schools are meeting Monday night to talk about an offer of a big donation.
Someone put up $800,000 in hopes of keeping the Old Mission Peninsula School open.
It was one of several schools on the chopping block to help the district save money.
Monday night, the board will accept or reject the request for a joint meeting with Peninsula Township.
If the board accepts the request for the meeting, the schools will hear more from the donor on the terms of how the money would be used.
Old Mission School will remain open for the next two years, no matter what happens tonight.
