Ferris State Hockey Hosts Alumni Golf Outing

The Ferris State hockey team held its alumni golf outing for the 30th year, with Katke Golf Course hosting the event.

The Crimson and Gold hockey team has had plenty of success recently, with the Bulldogs making three trips to the NCAA Tournament in the last five years.

Ferris State head coach Bob Daniels enjoys the golf outing to see all the former players back in town.

"It works in phases,” Daniels said. “When they first graduate, they always come back. Then, they go through the stage where a lot of them are getting married, and they have kids. And then a few years later, they start coming back again. And the turnout’s terrific, and I love to hear about their families, and what’s going on in their lives, their work, and I’m very appreciative of the fact that they come back every year."

As for the players, it’s fun to reminisce about college.

"I feel like college ended for me, you know, not too long ago, and I’m looking back, and it’s like 5-6 years now,” Bulldog alum and Montreal Canadiens player Zach Redmond said. “Time flies by, but the familiar faces, it kinda seems like you never left.”
